Alliander faced a major recruitment challenge due to the energy transition. Together with Successr, the Talent Sourcing Center was established: a future-proof, candidate-focused approach for sustainable talent.

The Problem .

Alliander faced a major recruitment challenge as a result of the energy transition. With – at that time – more than 2,500 desired new hires per year, the demand for technical and support talent was higher than ever. To address this, there was an urgent need to proactively engage with talent and shift the focus from vacancy-driven to candidate-driven recruitment.

In addition, the recruitment function was undergoing a broader professionalization process, which included refining the governance model and strengthening collaboration with the business.

Successr’s Solution .

Successr supported Alliander in setting up and structuring the Talent Sourcing Center, aiming to establish a sustainable and future-proof recruitment approach. This included:

  1. A three-step approach: Talent Sourcing, Talent Pooling & Talent Intelligence

  2. Establishing the Talent Sourcing function across the organization

  3. Developing processes and infrastructure for Talent Pools

  4. Building Talent Sourcing competencies through training and coaching

  5. Recruiting and training Talent Sourcers to create a strong sourcing capacity

  6. Training target teams to work effectively with Talent Sourcing

This sourcing approach was seamlessly integrated into Alliander’s broader recruitment strategy, which also focused on strengthening strategic collaboration with the business.

The Results .

Phase 1 of the project was successfully completed, with tangible outcomes:

  • Talent Sourcing is live. Dozens of sourcing cycles have been completed with results, either resulting in a hire or in greater insights.

  • Talent Pooling is live. For critical technical target groups, Talent Pools are operational, and communication plans have been developed.

  • A tailored training program for Talent Sourcers, fully in the Alliander style

  • The target group database is live and populated with relevant, Alliander-specific labor market information, enabling Alliander to build its own relevant Talent Intelligence.

  • All recruitment teams now have access to Talent Sourcing.

  • Talent Sourcing and Talent Pooling are integrated into the recruitment plans of the Recruitment Business Partners.

From Phase 2 onwards, which focuses on embedding, deepening, and further development, Alliander has taken over the reins. We proudly watch with confidence and curiosity as they continue to build on this solid foundation!
